Industry jazz

Perfect performance style, develop core technique, extend flexibility, build fitness and stamina whilst creating a cutting edge aesthetic. With an emphasis on individuality and self-expression, dancers are encouraged to target specific jazz skills such as: turns/kicks/elevation/sequences along with regular routines packed with jazz skills

Commercial

Created for the entertainment industry, Commercial encompasses various dance forms, including: hip-hop/ jazz/street. High energy and visually appealing choreography is often seen in: social media, music videos, concerts, television shows, movies, and advertisements. Commercial dance is great for building versatility and stage presence, whether performance or personal enjoyment. Focusing on individuality of expression, Commercial is a great way to immerse yourself in this fun style

Ballet

Classical Ballet forms the foundation of a great dancer, as it builds strength, grace and precision. Dancers develop technique through traditional graded syllabus steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement. Freestyle Ballet within classes enables the dancer to take their technical ability into choreography. Experienced dancers will move into Pointe Ballet

Lyrical/contemporary

Characterised by freedom of movement and fluidity, letting dancers explore the mind-body connection, Contemporary dance embraces expression and innovation, blending techniques of jazz, ballet and lyrical. An unrestricted form of dance that embraces floor work, stylised leaps and abstract ideas, such as ethical values, acceptance of self, and social issues. Lyrical dance alone is more of a specific style, which is gentler and lends more to a soft expressive technique and stage presentation that trains the dancer to be able to flow easily from one movement to the next

Acrobatics

Acrobatics, or Acro, is a dynamic fusion of dance technique combined with the strength, precision, and athleticism of gymnastics. Built on the foundations of flexibility and strength, Acro training includes balancing, limbering, tumbling, and partnering. We train using both Acrobatic Arts and AcroPad techniques, ensuring our dancers train safely with a high level of skill and technique with clean and beautiful presentation. Exciting AcroPAD workshops with Air tracks for all abilities and levels enables dancers to work through different variations and take Ariel skills to the next level. Alongside physical benefits, Acro offers a great outlet for energy, supports confidence and builds self-esteem

Strength + conditioning

Strength and conditioning is essential for dancers of all levels and styles. Physical training that is specifically tailored to meet the needs of dancers, improving strength, flexibility, endurance, and overall physical fitness to enhance performance and reduce the risk of injury. Using training methods designed to help dancers develop the strength and stamina necessary to execute choreography with precision and ease. Conditioning also helps dancers to develop better body awareness, alignment, and posture, which are crucial for maintaining proper technique

Tap

Tap Dance is exhilarating, energetic and so much fun! Giving dancers an innate sense of rhythm and strong performance personality. It enables what we refer to as our ‘Swan’ technique of being able to master intricate footwork whilst maintaining grace and performance presence in the upper body. The act of striking the floor and creating beats is a powerful and fundamental element of dance physical awareness. Learning rhythmic sequences in Tap also supports how dancers remember and use muscle memory

Drama

Engaging and inspiring, Drama classes provide a safe and supportive space where individuals can step out of their comfort zones in a way that feels free, natural and enjoyable. Classes are based around core acting skills including: script-work, improvisation, character building, voice, movement, audition technique and public speaking to deliver lines with clarity, emotion, and intent.

The benefits of studying Drama move way beyond Acting. Creativity is a sought-after attribute and drama helps students to think outside the box, develop problem-solving skills and embrace new ideas. Collaborative team work and leadership boosts confidence in every day life and improves communication. Alongside the technical aspects, engaging in drama can be a powerful outlet for stress relief. Acting exercises allow participants to express emotions, relax, relieve tensions and disconnect from the pressure of daily life. Enriching personal growth, the social benefits of drama are immense. Being 'seen and heard’ boosts confidence and enables students to feel comfortable in different situations or social settings. Learning to trust one's instincts and empathise with others allows students to engage in meaningful interactions and feel a real sense of belonging and strength. Drama encourages students to explore options, making them more open-minded and resourceful in their thinking, which in turn enriches their academic and emotional wellbeing

Musical theatre

Musical theatre classes combine three key elements: acting, singing, and dancing…the infamous ‘Triple Threat’! Classes are an exciting way for individuals to explore the performing arts while developing a diverse skill set and covers both traditional Musical Theatre and Popular Commercial Music genres.

Singing centres on essential vocal training as students develop their vocal technique. Using West End style vocal warm-ups and building a repertoire of songs or audition pieces, students grow their individual voice whilst also learning to harmonise, perform live and in a vocal studio setting. The Drama/acting element of Musical Theatre equips students to portray characters and convey emotions via dialogue and physical expression such as ‘acting through song’. Choreography is a significant aspect, where students learn various dance styles to enhance their performances and express the story through movement
