Terms & Conditions

 Section 1 - Fee Payment

1 - Fees are payable monthly via our Class Manager app. The registration link for Class Manager can be found on our page. Registration is quick and easy. Fees will naturally follow the registered classes. We align with school terms & do not charge during school holidays

2 - Regular attendance is expected. It is expected that you notify A.V.A if you are unable to attend due to illness or circumstance. Payments should continue as usual to avoid disruption & the classes missed can be redeemed at a future rehearsal session. If there is to be a longer period of absence due to illness or a school commitment, please inform A.V.A & at discretion, fees can be paused. If a student does not attend regularly, they will forfeit their place at the school

3 - We offer siblings discount, which graduates with additional children from the same immediate family

Section 2 - Uniform & Etiquette

1 - Class uniform is detailed on our ‘UNIFORM’ page. It is expected that appropriate uniform be worn in each class after a students first term of attendance. Uniform & neat personal presentation are part of the school’s discipline. This includes the wearing of appropriate footwear & hair worn neat & safely

2 - Jewellery is not permitted in class due to health & safety reasons. If students do wear jewellery it is at their own risk

3 - All uniform items should be appropriately named, so if mislaid can be returned to the student as quickly as possible. We will hold onto lost property for 2 months

4 - Students should aim to arrive 10 minutes before their first class is due to start. If late, they should register at the desk and join the class immediately with the least amount of disruption

5 - Students, Parents/Guardians and wider family members are expected to demonstrate mutually respectful behaviour towards each other, towards all A.V.A staff and any guest teachers at the school. We always aim to provide an environment that can be enjoyed by all, where everyone feels safe, heard & respected. We ask that everyone abides by this philosophy at all times. Poor behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in a student being asked to leave the school

6 - Bullying is NOT tolerated in any form. Any such incidents should be brought to staff attention immediately, where it will be investigated and appropriate action taken

7 - All staff must abide by the same philosophy of discipline & respect towards students/Parents/Guardians/Student families. We operate a safe environment where all staff are DBS enhanced and children are appropriately chaperoned by chaperones registered with local education authorities

7 - If a student/parent/guardian has an issue to raise with a member of our staff, please report it to the appropriate department & the Principal. It will be investigated with appropriate action taken

8 - A.V.A carries and regularly updates a: Child Protection Policy / Risk Assessment / Lockdown Procedure & complies with any current regulatory guidance such as Covid restrictions

9 - Students are required to take care of venue property and any property belonging to A.V.A. Any deliberate defacement or breakage will carry a charge of replacement

10 - Students are responsible for their own property & any items brought into A.V.A is at their own risk

11 - Mobile phones are not permitted in class. Students may leave them at the desk during classes

12 - Students are not permitted to leave the premises during class time, unless it has been agreed with a parent/guardian

13 - Students who are injured or unable to dance for any reason, are permitted to watch classes/rehearsals

14 - Water may be brought into classes & sipped when required. Toilet breaks are always allowed

15 - Children of primary school age and under must be dropped off & collected by a parent/guardian. The teacher must be informed by the regular parent/guardian if collection is to be made by anyone else. Safe words will then be used

Section 3 - Miscellaneous

1 - All students should complete a ‘Personal Information Form’ upon joining the school. This is for the safety of the student & holds emergency contact information along with any medical or other observations you feel we need to be made aware of. All information is secure & in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations)

2 - A.V.A is affiliated with BTDA (British Theatre Dance Association) which is a regulated organisation. We abide by all regulations & requirements it provides

3 - A.V.A is insured with Public Liability/Indemnity Insurance both at the school & when we are performing elsewhere. This covers the students when they are with us from time of registration to collection & is directly related to issues relating to a venue or as a result of staff intervention. We do not cover any existing issues gained by a student elsewhere or injuries caused by student misuse of equipment or personal neglect to themselves

4 - A certain amount of risk is carried out by any physical activity. Students taking part in any classes/events do so at their own risk

5 - To ensure the correct & safe teaching/spotting of dance, physical contact may be necessary to guide & ensure students correct stance. We always do so with due care, respect & for safety

6 - Entry into Examination is solely at the discretion of the Principal. Students who do not adhere to Examination Terms & Conditions risk being withdrawn from the process without refund. Exam Terms & Conditions are as follows: A student must be able to clearly carry out to a performance level all components of the grade they are taking / Examination uniform must be worn / Examination preparation classes ahead of the exam date must be 90% attended / Examination fees must be paid in full to the relevant Regulated Exam Board

7 - Media Consent Form: Upon registration, all students are asked to complete a Media Consent Form. This informs us if you do not wish to be on any form of media when performing or promoting the school. Photographs & videos of students may be taken & used for promotional purposes on our website/social media. Please inform us on this form, or if circumstances change, if you prefer your child NOT to be included
